Initial enquiry

We will come your home for a meet and greet and to look at the property you wish to have building work on. We will discuss the project and talk through your requirements. We will then send out your free quotation. If you then choose to work with Rooftop Developments, the following will happen.

Design

We have years of experience and can talk through ideas to help create the most out of the space you plan to build. We can recommend architects and structural engineers to also meet with you to draw up your loft conversion or extension. Planning permission/permitted development will also need to be approved by the local council. If plans, drawings and permission are already in place then works can start fairly quickly. A payment plan will also be put in place with stage payments.

Build

Once the relevant drawings have been done and all permissions are in place the build can begin. Our team will be on site everyday until the project is complete. We will keep you informed of all works being done and when and discuss anything extra that crops up along the way. Completion At the end of the project a snagging list will be compiled and the build will not be signed off as complete until all works have been finished.

Planning Permission?

If your property has permitted development rights, as long as you adhere to the councils guidelines, a rear dormer conversion can be built under a Certificate Of Lawfulness. A Certificate Of Lawfulness means as long as you build within the guidelines you do not need to wait for the application to be approved before work commences. If you do not have permitted development rights, you will need to obtain planning permission. With planning permission you can not start work until planning permission has been granted. Once a planning application is valid with the council they should issue a decision after 8 weeks. Rooftop Developments will ascertain exactly which permission is needed and we will submit the relevant application to obtain the correct approval on your behalf.
